Rick Schooler


Rick Schooler is an Advisor at StarBridge Advisors, LLC. Rick is a veteran healthcare executive and IT leader and for the past 16 years served as VP & CIO at Orlando Health.  In addition to IT, his responsibilities also included Telecommunications, Clinical Informatics, Enterprise Analytics, Quality Reporting, BioMedical Engineering, Supply Chain and a Group Purchasing Organization. Prior to joining Orlando Health, Rick was the VP & CIO at Central Georgia Health System. From 1991 to 1994, Rick served as Director of Systems Integration at Methodist Hospital of Indiana.  Prior to healthcare, his employers included Ameritech and General Dynamics.

Rick is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and the Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS).

Rick currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Central Florida Coalition for the Homeless, MRO Corporation and ShareSafe Healthcare, LLC. He recently also served on the boards of Orlando Health Central Hospital (Finance Committee Chair & Treasurer), HIMSS Analytics, HIMSS North America and Orlando Health Network (a clinically integrated provider network). Rick is also a member of the Healthcare Informatics Editorial Board and is an Emeritus Advisory Board member of KLAS.

Throughout his career, Rick has received multiple awards and recognitions that most notably include the prestigious John E. Gall CIO of the Year, CHIME Innovator of the Year and Purdue University Distinguished Technology Alumni.

Rick earned his MBA from the University of Indianapolis and a BS in Computer and Information Technology from Purdue University. He is a Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO).
